1. At Maharashtra Electrosmelt Limited-MEL (a subsidiary company of SAIL for producing Ferro Alloys for major SAIL Plants)

  • Worked on Cost Control & Reduction Applications to remove the effect of extra expenses and generate substantial revenue in MEL.
  • Actively involved in the turnaround of the PSU, having a total Turnover of Rs 230 crores, and ensured liberation from BIFR for MEL mostly through internal strategies without initial price support.
  • Introduced an effective system of payment to suppliers and contractors during the financial crisis to uphold the confidence of all.

2. At Bhilai Steel Plant:

Headed the Finance & Accounts function of Bhilai Steel Plant as Executive Director (F&A).

  • Spearheaded introduction of ERP at Bhilai Steel Plant, the first plant amongst all in SAIL.
  • Successfully introduced effective Investment plans of a high-value PF Trust (Bhilai Steel Plant PF Trust) as the Chairman of the Trust for effecting good return on Investment and distributing the effect to employees at large.
  • Successfully negotiated to resolve long pending disputed issues with Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB), Indian Railways, etc.
  • Worked as Chairman of several Project Review Committees covering an overall project value of Rs 17000 crores (appx).
  • Worked closely to resolve issues with Project contractors for closing the contract in the Sinter Plant.
  • Worked as a Nominee Director in Almora Magnesite Co Ltd (an associate company of SAIL)

3. As a Partner in a Chartered Accountancy Firm (S Mallick & Co):

  • Developing an Accounting Manual for a Private Company
  • Supervised Stock Verification of both Revenue items and Fixed Assets
  • Carried out Company Valuation
  • Active role in the Selection of Senior Finance Executive for a leading Private sector Company
